The New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council (The Council™) is celebrating 45 years of facilitating prosperous collaborations between major corporations and Council-certified Asian, Black, Hispanic, and Native-American businesses in the New York-New Jersey area. Today, The Council culminates its celebration with the 2018 Partnership Awards Gala, at the New York Marriott Marquis. The theme of the evening is Reflections of Excellence in Diversity.
“We are celebrating excellence and success, not just longevity,” said The Council President and CEO Terrence Clark. “The Gala honors the achievements of stellar minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs) and corporate members who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to establish and advance rewarding business relationships.
The effects of these relationships are felt nationwide from the creation of new jobs to the delivery of services and goods that are strengthening our economy every day.”
The Council will award top suppliers, advocates, and corporations that continually demonstrate innovation, and provide value-added services and excellence in supplier diversity. The award categories are Performance Par Excellence to the Suppliers of the Year; Local and National Corporations of the Year; and Advocate of the Year.
“We made many strides since our inception 45 years ago,” said Clark. “Today we boast a membership of more than 1000 MBEs and 100 corporations. Through their collaborations, more than $40 million in contracts have been generated. This is just the start of what The Council has in store for the business community.”Approximately 500 Council members, small businesses, and corporations are expected to attend the gala.
