HARLEM COMMUNITY AND ELECTED OFICIALS COME TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE THE 75TH BIRTHDAY OF LONG-TIME COMMUNITY LEADER AND ACTIVIST JACKIE ROWE-ADAMS FIGHTING TO END THE SHOOTINGS AND KILLINGS OF OUR YOUTH BY ILLEGAL HANGUNS AND GHOST GUNS IN OUR COMMUNITIES.
Harlem community and elected officials will celebrate the 75th Birthday of Jackie Rowe-Adams and her dedication to ending the shootings and killings of our young people by illegal handguns and ghost guns.
The 75th Birthday Celebration begin at 6:00PM- 6:45 PM with a “purple carpet” arrival, followed by a cocktail hour, dinner and at 8:00 PM the program, entertainment and the singing of Happy Birthday and Jackie’s remarks.
“The problem of gun violence stems from larger social and structural issues, not just here in New York, but throughout the United States,” states Jackie Rowe-Adams, President and Co-Founder of Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E.
“Years of planned disinvestment in our communities has resulted in poor housing, lack of quality education in the schools, inadequate and lack of job opportunities all contribute to these social issues.
Sadly, these issues foster gang related activity, easy access to illegal handguns and now ghost guns, and all too often, the killing of our youth.”
Gun Violence Affects the Entire Community. Our mission at Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. is to prolong the life of our youth by preventing violence, its social causes, and costs.
As a single-issue non-profit organization, we divide our efforts into three areas: victim services, education, and activism.
Activism: Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. has been a grass-root movement for the advocacy of gun violence victims and their families since its inception in 2006. From organizing marches; town hall meetings & forums, Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. has also been a staunch supporter of “Sensible & Responsible Gun Laws.
Education: We believe that nurturing, supporting, and educating our youth is the first step to putting an end to senseless peer gun violence.
Giving them a strong foundation and a sense of self-worth, gives them a fighting chance to aspire to higher goals than those that they too often use as examples of role models.
We were even able to work with a smaller group through the pandemic thanks to supporters and sponsors like glassy baby white light fund.
Victim Services: Once a parent/family has been affected by gun violence, the question most have is “What now?” Through our first responders’ services, we let the grieving family know that we. are here, should they need us for anything.
We partner with local, city, and state government officials and agencies, as well as other community leaders and organizations to provide victim services to families and individuals dealing with trauma due to violence.
Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E continues to spread the word about preventing violence, uplifting our children, and improving community relations between NYPD and the communities they serve.
National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims 2022: It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business.
Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

About Harlem Mother’s & Father’s (S.A.V.E.) : With the support of then, New York State Assemblyman, Keith L. T. Wright, Harlem Mothers Stop Another Violent End (S.A.V.E.), was co-founded in 2006.
It was then that Jackie Rowe-Adams decided to take action to save her community. After losing two sons to gun violence, and seeing gang violence and shootings rising daily, she could take it no more.
Mrs. Rowe-Adams herself lost two sons to gun violence. She has determined to fight to keep other families from experiencing the life-altering agony of losing loved ones to senseless gun violence.
The thought of so many families suffering through their own loss, has been the main driving force of Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. Our organization is built as a catalyst to uplift hurting families as well as prevent any future trauma.
We like to thank Fred Yaeger, President Yaeger Public Relations, official publicist for Jackie Rowe-Adams Founder of Harlem Mother’s & Father’s (S.A.V.E.), for many years, for his kind invite.
