Clarion Events, producers of three leading restaurant & foodservice trade shows and conferences confirmed today that the International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York, Healthy Food Expo and Coffee Fest events opened on Sunday, March 8th and run through Tuesday, March 10th at the Javits Center in New York City.
“New York City is a vibrant, bustling community, continuing with business as usual and bars, restaurants and retail establishments throughout the tri-state area are open during this time. We are here for the next three days to serve those in the non-stop hospitality industry continue to thrive,” said Tom Loughran, Vice President, Clarion Events Food & Beverage Portfolio. “On behalf of Clarion Events, Inc. North America, our thoughts are with all of those currently impacted by COVID-19. Ensuring the safety of all our customers, attendees and employees to our events is our top priority. We are following the suggestions of the U.S and state public health guidelines as they are developing with regards to the COVID-19 virus.”
For the nearly 500 exhibitors and thousands of visitors who are not impacted by the travel restrictions and plan to participate at the event, we look forward to welcoming them to the Javits Center on Sunday, March 8 at 10:00 am. As added precautions, we are working closely with the Javits Center to implement a range of additional hygiene measures at the event, including aggressive cleaning within public spaces and high-touch points, hand sanitizing stations and on-site medical support should it be necessary.

This annual show and expo is important to the state’s restaurant industry, which supports hundreds of thousands of hard-working New Yorkers,” added Melissa Fleischut, CEO & President of the New York State Restaurant Association, sponsors of the event.
“It is important to note that there are more than 275 trade shows and conferences taking place in the US this week serving their respective industries. While the media focus has been on a few cancelled events with a global reach on both the attendee and exhibitor audiences, our Restaurant, Coffee and Healthy Food Expos have a more local reach and are not impacted by travel bans that have been put in place for international travelers to US trade shows,” Loughran added.
“It is every company’s decision whether or not they wish to attend or exhibit at events right now. We look forward to bringing together the companies who do come to the show floor, and provide a platform for them to conduct business, meet with industry peers, and to participate in our education program to drive their goals – including understanding the impacts of COVID-19 on their business,” added Loughran. “In fact, we have just added a new session to our conference program on Restaurant Preparation to Minimize COVID-19 Disease Risk and What You Need to Do Know being offered on Sunday, March 8 at 12:00 pm by a Public Health and Risk Management Thought leader.”
