HOTWINC, Serves over one Thousand, Homeless, Needy, First Responders & Senior Citizens During COVID-19
Since March 2020, when COVID-19 pandemic, spread throughout the United States of America, we at Humanitarians of the World Inc, have been busy getting food, basic necessities, tee-shirts, caps , tote bags, masks, gloves and sanitizers.
We did get a lot of support from many organizations, United Sherpa Association (USA), Inc. Jean Shafiroff, ZGuards, and many more organizations who did not want their names mentioned, who contributed many products anonymous.
We had many individual donors who contributed monetary donations, of $5, $10, $20, $50, $100 and some in a better situation donated a little more which they can afford., we want to thank many people on our social media platforms, who made these contributions, from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and Linked IN.
Above all we also want to thank all our Humanitarians of the World Inc, (HOTWINC) Volunteers, who contributed, their time, money and energy, to make this project a super success.
Since March to Sept 2020, approximately, 7 months. We have helped close to 2000 (Two Thousand People, Homeless, Needy, poor, senior citizens, people with disabilities, COVID-19 positive, first responders, essential workers and many many more.
We pack the bags at our Humanitarians of the World Inc, World headquarters based here in Elmhurst Queens New York.
Close to 1000 bags were given to 2000 people in need, each bag is for 2 people. The tote bag is filled with, fresh fruit Apples, Oranges, Bananas , Cereal, Milk, healthy bars, fresh breads Pita bread, Bagels, Rolls,Apple juice, Orange juice, Apple jelly, Hummus, peanut butter sandwiches, baby carrot bags.
Also in the bags we included: 2Tee-shirts, 2 Caps, 2 water bottles, 2 pairs of socks. 2 Masks alongside 2 pairs of disposable gloves and hand sanitizers. Also following electronic items were given: Cell phone charger, Mini-Earphones, charging cables and many more electronic accessories.
After packing all the bags, alongside our volunteers, we put them in our van and start hitting different locations, throughout New York City, Queens, Bronx, and Brooklyn. Each one of our volunteers are wearing a mask, a shield over the mask , alongside a pair of rubber gloves, to keep them safe, while distributing the bags to many people, also 6ft social distancing is an must, for everybody’s safety, each volunteer is given a 30 minute course in this COVID-19 pandemic.
We are proud to say all our volunteers helping us, did not get effected with COVID-19 , and everyone we distributed the bags were all safe, apart from the people who were suffers of COVID-19, which we distributed bags to many by leaving the bags 7 feet away, after that they picked them up. They waved to us and thanked us, for the donation of bags.
On a daily basis, we would distribute 10 bags, to 10 homeless South American, folks near a park near, Elmhurst hospital. I try to send a few of the homeless there to a local food pantry where they can get free food on a daily basis.
According 3 of the homeless guys, they told us that they did go to such pantries and was told by a couple of guys distributing food, that they needed an ID, and that if they had no ID, ISIS, will arrest them and have them deported, so they got scared and never went back to the pantry. So we on a regular basis give them bags of food, so they don’t go hungry.

The largest nursing union in the state filed suit again two hospital systems and the New York Department of Health on Monday, “alleging that dangerous work guidelines and protective gear shortages exacerbated the spread of the novel coronavirus,”. The suit says nurses were not given enough masks and gowns and were forced to re-use items, getting them and family members sick. Nearly a thousand members of the New York State Nurses Association have so far tested positive for coronavirus. Eighty-four of them are hospitalized, and 11 have died.
New state data revealed that at least 14 nursing homes in the New York metro area have lost at least 25 people to the coronavirus. Nearly 2,700 people have already died at nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities in the state during the pandemic.
At least five New York City–area nursing homes have reported more than 40 deaths, including the Cobble Hill Health Center in Brooklyn, where 55 people have died, and Kings Harbor Multicare Center in the Bronx, where at least 45 people have died. As the New York Times reports, family members of people inside nursing homes in the state have been asking for this information for more than a month. On Friday, Governor Cuomo blamed the delay on the the institutional stress the facilities have faced during the pandemic.
Among the nearly 5,500 deaths from a new coronavirus in New York are 41 MTA employees, according to MTA Chairman Patrick Foye.New York, where the MTA serves, has been hit hardest with the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19 and as of Tuesday, 138,863 people have tested positive. Foye, who tested positive for the virus in late March, told WCBS Radio Wednesday morning that an estimated 1,500 MTA employees have tested positive for the virus.”[They] have been throughout this entire pandemic, acting heroically,” Foye said of his colleagues. “We mourn the loss of every one of our colleagues.”
A total of 282 FDNY members — EMS, firefighters and civilian workers — have tested positive for COVID-19.Oren Barzilay, head of paramedics union Local 2507, which represents EMS workers, said the coronavirus outbreak has taken a toll on his members.
“It’s really heart-wrenching work. It’s going into a house and not knowing what to expect,” Barzilay said. “We’re taking sick people to the hospitals not knowing if they’re going to come out alive or not.”He said there are EMS units where nearly all of the workers are sick.
