This year, Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices, proudly announces our 20th anniversary servicing the metropolitan New York City area for those affected by autism and related disorders, as well as those who care for them. We have come a long way to becoming a model school, and are honored to have so many wonderful years filled with growth and gratitude.

From the very first day, Shema Kolainu has not only been a school, but a center providing many different services to our students and their families. One aspect of our dedicated care is providing individualized support to our families and children.

We celebrate the nuances of each child’s personality and work to foster unique abilities through various evidence-based education strategies, interventions, and therapies. We work with parents to develop a comprehensive approach through our workshops, consistent communication, and open access to resources.

Our children continue to amaze us every day, accomplishing more and inspiring us all. These “small miracles” as we call them, are major blessings. These achievements could not be possible without the dedication and support of our outstanding teaching staff. This issue highlights a selection of success stories, our program events, and useful topics for our community.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together to stand behind our blessed children as they make new strides along their journey. We look forward to the next twenty years of making a difference in the lives of our children.

Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices was founded in 1998 by Dr. Joshua Weinstein, Ph.D., M.B.A., in response to the growing need in the New York metropolitan area’s education system for programs that effectively fill the learning and emotional requirements of children with autism.

Today, Shema Kolainu – school for children with austism and community-based educational and therapeutic programs serve over 1,000 children, ranging from newborn to 11-years-of-age, and hailing from all 5 boroughs of New York City.

Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices offers a broad spectrum of evidence-based education and therapeutic programs to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related disabilities in a warm and nurturing environment.

A nonpublic, nonprofit, nondenominational, multi-cultural school, we provide quality treatment, education, professional training and mentoring.

Programs are designed to help children overcome the disabilities caused by autism, including teaching them to communicate, socialize, play, read and write. Children participate in academic and therapy programs while learning to become a member of their family and community. Because autism knows no national or cultural boundaries, Shema Kolainu shares its pioneering programs and research with professionals locally and abroad so that all people who struggle with developmental disabilities and autism may benefit from our expertise.

Welcome by Dr. Joshua Weinstein Founder & President of Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices. Masters of Ceremony were, Kalman Yeger, NYC Councilmember  and Menachem Lubinsky President and CEO LUBICOM Marketing & Consulting.

Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices expresses its appreciation to NYC Councilmember Chaim Deutch for his ongoing commitment to our students and his overall leadership and support for our programs.

Close to 100 people were in attendance supporting the Shema Kolainu – Hear Our Voices organization.
