Urban Upbound is dedicated to breaking cycles of poverty in New York City public housing and other low-income neighborhoods. To continue to serve our community, every year we organize a gala to raise funds for our programs.
This year our in-person Gala will be held on Wednesday, October 19th at Sony Hall (235 W 46th St, New York, NY 10036).
We couldn’t think of a more appropriate theme then, Celebrating Success. Join us as we celebrate the success of Urban Upbound, our clients, our supporters, and our team. After a long two years of virtual events, we can all use a reason to celebrate!
Our Gala will include a concert, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing and fun! Entertainment will be curated by celebrity Artist Eric B., and include performances by Monifah and Peter Gunz.
This year we will be honoring beloved community members Billy Robinson and Carol Wilkins, who are true hometown heroes. Additionally, we will be presenting Council Member Tiffany Cabán with the Claudia Coger Community Award.
Mayor Eric Adams was an honoree and an honored guest who spoke very highly of Bishop Taylor , who is the president and Co-Founder of Urban Upbound , Mayor adams went on to say, Bishop Taylor is truly a true warrior and a man of God, who has done great work over and over again in the Queensbridge community. He went on to say I am not hear for the award but for Bishop Taylor and the organization.
Close to 300 people were in attendance, it was a great event. There was an open bar, Buffett style dinner, Live entertainment and networking all for a great cause.
